Antique Show Overview
Twice a year Round Top is host to one of the nation’s largest antique events. The show started in 1967 with 22 dealers at the Round Top Rifle Hall. The Original Round Top Antiques Fair is still the first full weekend in April and October. Because of its success, many other shows open prior to it and now include the towns in a 10-mile radius of Round Top.
The collection of shows is so popular that some people often refer to it simply as “Round Top”, after the town and show that started it all. Many shows start almost ten days prior to the Original Round Top Antiques Fair for what is now called “Preview Weekend”, but all shows end by the final Sunday.
The locations for the shows are as varied as the dealers exhibiting. Some are in dance hall, some under football field-size tents, and still others fill fields, but all have treasures. Even the most dedicated shopper cannot possibly see everything in one day, as there is so much to see and more arriving daily. Most of the shows are north and south of Round Top along Highway 237. Some shows are more controlled than others with exact opening and closing times. Others open when the sun rises and close when the sun sets. All have parking available onsite or nearby as PARKING ALONG THE HIGHWAY RIGHT-OF-WAY IS FORBIDDEN. Some shows have an entrance fee, others are free but near paid parking, and still others are free with free parking.
